The 78th Emmy Awards took place Monday night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with Mariska Hargitay hosting the ceremony â the first woman to host the award show in 15 years.
“The Pitt” led all programs with 25 nominations, while “Hacks” earned a record 24 nominations during its final season. Apple TVs “Widows Bay” followed with 19 nominations, and “Pluribus” has 18.
The Creative Arts Emmys were presented ahead of Monday night, with notable wins for Shailene Woodley, Mariska Hargitay, Bad Bunny and the late Rob Reiner. “Widows Bay” led the early awards with eight wins, while “DTF St. Louis” earned six.
Matthew Rhys made Emmy history Monday night by winning two lead acting awards in the same ceremony. The actor first won outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series for Netflixs “The Beast in Me” before taking home outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for Apple TVs “Widows Bay.”
